Setup/Configuration of the "Local" BidMatrix Subcontractor Database

Setup/Configuration of the "Local" BidMatrix Subcontractor Database

If you have chosen to enable a local subcontractor database and are not enabling either the BuildingConnected or SmartBid database option, the administrator can define a custom list of attributes that will be used for all subcontractors. You setup and maintain the custom list of subcontractor attributes by clicking on the Settings icon and then choosing Subcontractors on the Settings navigation panel.

Defining your list of subcontractor attributes is very similar to defining your custom project attributes.  When setting up subcontractor attributes, you will not need to add fields for contacts. Contacts, their email addresses, and phone numbers will be added at the time you are creating subcontractors in your database.

To add a subcontractor attribute, first enter a subcontractor attribute name. Next, select the input type for the subcontractor attribute. The subcontractor attribute input type can be text, yes / no, date, or multiple-choice. Then select the plus sign to add the attribute.

To change the order of the subcontractor attributes, highlight the attribute you would like to move and select the "move" icon and then drag the attribute to the desired position.

To delete a subcontractor attribute, highlight the attribute you would like to delete and then click on the waste paper basket.

To add values for multiple-choice subcontractor attributes, highlight the attribute and select the"edit" iconand then enter the values that will be available for that attribute.

If you want to allow multiple values to be selected on a multiple-choice attribute. Click on the icon as indicated below:
