The bid package matrix always includes a budget column. The budget for each bid package phase can be populated during the estimate import process, assuming the estimate that you import includes dollar values for each bid packages. For bid packages you manually add to the project, not using an import, you can add budget amounts within the bid package matrix. To learn more about importing estimates which include budgets, see Importing Estimates under the Integrations help articles.
Important: If you imported an estimate that contained items with multiple category costs (labor, material, equipment, etc.), by default, all category costs are combined to makeup the budget for each bid package phase. You can always "breakout" or "disconnect" category cost from contributing to the subcontractor matrix budget.
Having budgets for each bid package phase is optional, but it does allow you to compare your budgets vs. the quotes you receive from subcontractors. You can also "require" a budget to be used in the event you choose to "self perform" a bid package phase(s),
You can also change an existing phase budget. The new budget amount will update the budget on the Summary Sheet. If you imported an estimate with item costs, any items whose costs rolled up to the phase that was changed, will have their item costs proportionately changed to support the new budget.
