Adding Project Statistics

Adding Project Statistics

You can use subcontractor attributes to calculate statistics. The Statistics can track the total dollars awarded to subcontractors that match statistical configurations that you can create. One of the most common uses for Statistics. being a method for tracking and meeting MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) requirements on a project.

You can configure Statistics using subcontractor Yes/No attributes and subcontractor multiple choice attributes.

To add a Statistic to your project, click on the Statistics option in the Summary Sheet toolbar.

Clicking on the Statistics option will bring up a Statistics panel on the right hand side of the Summary Sheet.

Click the Configure option at the top of the panel to configure a new Statistic. Then click Add new Statistic to bring up the configuration window.

In the Configure Statistics window, enter a description for your Statistic. Next, choose from the drop down list of possible subcontractor attributes that can be used as the basis of your Statistic. Remember, Statistics use Yes / No attributes and multiple choice attributes. Those will be the only attributes you will see in the drop down list. In our example, we will choose "Minority Owned" as the attribute to be the basis for the Statistic.

You then check whether the Statistic you are tracking is based on total dollars awarded to subcontractors that match the attribute, Yes or No value, or whether you are tracking a count (the number of subcontractors that match the Yes or No value.

Dollar based Statistics are based on the gross total of the entire bid. If you want budget / self-perform totals to be included in the gross total, click Yes.

Next you can enter either a percentage target or a dollar target for the Statistic. In this MBE requirement example, we will enter 10% of the gross total as the target.

As you begin selecting subcontractor's bids to carry on the project, the Statistics are updated in "real-time". You can always click on the Statistics option on the Summary Sheet toolbar to monitor your progress.

In this example, 10% of the gross total is $13,493,018 and the current amount awarded to minority owned businesses $ 15,802,424 or 11.7 percent. Because the requirement has been met, the target icon and the target value are colored green. If the requirement had not been met, the target icon and the target value would be red.

You can set up as many Statistics as required for each project.
