Adding Alternates to a Bid

You can add an unlimited number of Alternates to each project. To add an alternate(s) to the project. Click on the Alternates option in the Summary Sheet toolbar.





When you click on the Work Breakdowns option on the navigation panel, it will open a list of the work breakdowns that are currently have associated with this project. Alternate(s) is one of the default work breakdowns that will appear in the list for every project that is set up.

 

To add a new alternate, click on the Add Alternate option at the top of the page.



You will then be prompted to enter an alphanumeric code and a description for the new alternate.


Next, you can select which bid packages that are contained in the existing project are applicable to the new alternate. You can click individual bid packages from the list, or you can check the box for "Select All" and deselect those bid packages that are not applicable.

 

After adding the new alternate, you can then enter a quantity and unit of measure for the alternate. The quantity and unit of measure you enter will allow you to see the cost per unit for the alternate in the Summary Sheet overline for that alternate.
